What is MycoAcademy?

MycoAcademy is a unique online education system that we launched in spring 2024 in response to our customers' growing interest in deeper mycotherapy education.

Until now, our customers have used online counselling rooms where experienced therapists recommend suitable combinations of vital mushroom products. Over time, however, we have noticed that many customers would like to learn how to make these combinations themselves, and have expressed an interest in better understanding the world of vital mushrooms.

Milan Schirlo, founder of MycoMedica, a leader in the field of vital mushrooms, came up with the idea to create the first comprehensive educational program. MycoAcademy is designed to incorporate knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, knowledge of modern science and 20 years of experience working with mushrooms.

The first year of the course exceeded all expectations - nearly 1,400 students signed up! Due to this success, we have decided to expand our offerings for the 2025/2026 school year and open two separate courses, MycoTherapist and YaoTherapist, giving interested students the opportunity to choose the specialty that appeals to them most.

In 9 months (2 semesters) we will make you an expert in vital fungi. You will learn how to use mushrooms for health issues, harmonize key body functions and support the health of your patients, yourself and your loved ones.

Professionals who have already studied Traditional Chinese Medicine will deepen their knowledge of the field of mycotherapy and expand their therapeutic options.

Laymen who do not yet have the necessary foundation and awareness of traditional Chinese medicine will gain enough information to use mushrooms for their own use, to support their own health or that of their immediate family

B. Become a certified YaoTherapist

In 3 semesters we will make you an expert in Chinese herbs, focusing on the use of YaoMedica tinctures. You'll learn how to use Chinese herbs, how to combine them for specific health concernsch, how to use herbs to improve the quality of life and support the health of your patients, yourself and your loved ones.

Chinese phytotherapy, known as TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) phytotherapy, is one of the oldest and most comprehensive systems of treatment in the world. Here, a combination of herbs and other natural ingredients are used to restore balance to the body, enhance vitality and address the deeper causes of health problems.

As a YaoTherapist (Yao means medicine woman in Chinese) you will become a specialist in this ancient but still relevant method. You will learn not only how to properly combine herbs, but also how to use their synergy with vital mushrooms for maximum effectiveness. You will delve into the art of harmonizing the body based on its individual needs.

Can I study MycoTherapistand YaoTherapistat the same time?

Yes, of course it is possible, but for practical reasons we do not recommend it. The study of both mycotherapy and phytotherapy is demanding, contains a great deal of information and - as you will see for yourself - even studying one discipline will give you a hard time.

We recommend that you start with MycoTherapist first and follow it up with YaoTherapist the next year.
