Testing equals quality

Like you, we want to be absolutely sure that our mushrooms are 100% effective and safe. That's why we subject them to the most stringent tests on the market. In addition to testing for harmful substances, we also test whether the mushroom contains the maximum amount of active ingredients. Most manufacturers forget this, but it's the only way to make sure you're buying an extract that really works. Our mushrooms have been doing great in tests for 14 years. Want to see for yourself? We will be happy to send you lab reports upon request.

  • We test all mushrooms at all stages of processing
  • we check for a wide range of harmful substances
  • we verify and guarantee the content of active ingredients

Grown in the purest nature

We grow our mushrooms in areas of the unspoiled Chinese highlands, far from industrial cities, so that they develop enough active ingredients and have no chance to absorb any harmful substances.

We visit the farms regularly, learn from local farmers and put our own experience into growing them. We know, for example, that each mushroom needs a different substrate to properly develop the active ingredients. Some mushrooms grow on trees in nature reserves, Reishi likes oaks and Chaga thrives best on the trunk of birch trees. So we mix each mushroom with its own substrate so that it grows as it would in the wild.

On what substrate do we grow our mushrooms?

Time for full development of active substances

In addition to good weather, clean air and good water, mushrooms need one more thing: time. In Shiitake, the beneficial substances take five months to form and Reishi needs eight before its fruit can be used. Some producers harvest mushrooms early, when they are not yet as strong and potent. We harvest the mushrooms when they are fully ripe.

Born in China, processed in East Bohemia

Extracts, tinctures, syrups and cosmetics made from mushrooms are produced in our family production plant in Police nad Metují in the nature of the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks under the strictest hygienic conditions. We have absolute controlover what goes into each capsule or bottle . Our plant is full of the most modern machines and technologies, thanks to which we process vital mushrooms for you at a world-class level

We only use mushroom spawn

All our products are made from mushroom spawn. In these, the active substances are concentrated, unlike in the mycelium. You can think of this as analogous to an acupuncture network in the body, along which energy flows and surfaces at an acupuncture point. This is in the mushroom fruiting body.

We process the fruiting bodies through several types of extraction, from single, to dual, to combined. Because we extract the mushrooms properly and gently, the extracts at the end of the process are similar to the original mushroom and full of potency.

The most stringent testing for harmful substances

Fungi like to take in all sorts of substances from their environment. In fact,to ensure that nothing unwantedgets into ourmushrooms , we test them continuously: from harvesting to production to finished products.MycoMedica mushrooms are tested in laboratories in the USA, Ireland, Germany, as well as at the University of Technology in Prague. We do not do random tests, but honestly test all mushroom raw materials at all stages of the process.

Top-notch facilities look for more than 300 harmful substancesin mushrooms for us . For example:

  • Pesticide s
  • heavy metals
  • radioactivit y
  • polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
  • microbial contaminants

The tests we carry out are far more demanding than those required by legislation. We can assign a report to each individual capsule and tell you exactly where it came from

Testing for active substances

Do you think it is enough to test mushrooms for harmful substances? Not enough. You also need to test whether they have enough active ingredients to actually work. We test mushrooms for beneficial substances regularly, but many manufacturers neglect to do this .

Watch out for polysaccharides

Most packaging will tell you the polysaccharide content, but if measured by less sensitive tests, it may include substances that won't do you any good. This won't happen with us because we invest in the best quality tests and measure polysaccharides accurately .

The era of betaglucans is coming

Although MycoMedicahas long held its place as the market leader, we have decided to go even further and take our products to the next level. We've kicked off the betaglucan era and launched a new PRO mushroom rangebased on them.

We continue to accurately test our base line mushrooms for polysaccharide content, but within our advanced line we also test for beta-glucans, the most potent mushroom compounds that directly regulate the immune system. Testing these in extracts is very challenging both procedurally and financially, which is why we are the only European company to do this on this scale . This gives you the most accurate information on how many beneficial substances are in the mushroom.

Gentle extraction for raw mushroom strength

We produce PRO mushrooms using an innovative method of combined extraction, which can increase the beta-glucan content of the extract, while preserving the other substances in the mushroom in optimal proportions. The resulting extract thus resembles the raw mushroom while being as potent as possible.

This is important because there are many products on the market where, for example, Reishi no longer has much in common with the original mushroom because manufacturers dilute it to reduce its resulting price. This is definitely not the case here

Why choose our mushrooms

We sell over half a million products every year, but we're still the same passionate family business we were at the very beginning .

With every order you get from us:

  • A family-run approach, fair treatment and good cheer .
  • quality, safe and effective mushrooms tested to the highest standards
  • complete confidence in the ingredients, everything is made in house and we have 100% control over it
  • products that are unparalleled on the European market (PRO range )

How our mushrooms differ from the competition

Mushrooms MycoMedica

  • They are 100% pure, made from mushroom spawn .
  • They have a transparent origin, which we can easily prove .
  • They grow as in the wild. We adjust the substrates according to the type of mushroom.
  • They have a quantity of polysaccharides verified by quality and reliable tests .
  • The PRO range is also tested for beta-glucans, for even more detail on the composition.
  • We harvest them only when they are really ripe and have developed all the active ingredients .
  • We manufacture in our factory and know exactly what is in the final product.
  • They are fully vetted, we test all batches without exception .

Mushrooms from common sellers

  • They are not pure, it is a mixture of mushroom and substrate or other substances.
  • They often have a secret origin without documentation.
  • Because of the cost, they grow on the wrong type of substrate and the vital substances do not develop.
  • They are tested by basic polysaccharide tests which are not accurate.
  • They do not have verified beta-glucans or any advanced tests.
  • They may be made from old fruiting bodies and therefore less effective.
  • They are produced in outside facilities that are not under the control of the manufacturer.
  • They are only checked randomly.

We also have the highest requirements for tinctures

The herbs we use to make YaoMedica tinctures are also imported from China. Thanks to where they grow, they have a slightly different composition than those found in Czech nature. This gives them exactly the effects we need in the final recipe . Phytotherapy, treatment with plants, is one of the important pillars of traditional Chinese medicine. For some tinctures, we follow recipes that are thousands of years old

How do we make and test tinctures?

Phytotherapy, the treatment with plants, is one of the important pillars of traditional Chinese medicine. For tinctures, we follow traditional recipes that are thousands of years old. Our tinctures begin with careful selection and testing of herbs. We regularly visit our suppliers in China to personally inspect the quality of their production. Each herbal batch is subjected to rigorous testing to ensure its purity and potency. Although herbs are not at risk of confusion after drying, as is the case with some mushroom powders, we hand inspect each sprig of herb to ensure that we are using only the highest quality plant parts. We then macerate these selected herbs in pure alcohol, which allows their active ingredients to be released and preserved. Finished tinctures are continuously tested at ALS's independent laboratories, where we check for the presence of heavy metals and pesticides. This ensures that our tinctures are safe and meet the highest quality standards.

Strict manufacturing practices of MycoMedica

In our company, we place great emphasis on the quality and safety of our products. Therefore, westrictly adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standardsin all our production processes . This system enables us to effectively identify and manage the risks associated with food production, thus ensuring maximum safety and customer satisfaction. Proof of our commitment to high quality standards is the Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate we have received from the State Agricultural and Food Inspection Authority.
