Earthquake in Morocco
Aid to the villages of Aremd and Dknt
The recent earthquake in Al Haouz province in Morocco has left numerous communities in the High Atlas in desperate need of assistance. Houses have been destroyed, families displaced. Roads to most mountain villages are still blocked by fallen rocks.
How did we help?
As you may know, we have friends in Morocco who visited us in the Czech Republic this spring. At their lecture we learned a lot of interesting information not only about the High Atlas. And it was the inhabitants of this beautiful place who were hit by a devastating earthquake a few days ago. So we contacted them directly and decided to support them with 125.000 CZK.
Who will we help?
The aid will be directed to the village of Aremd/Imlil and to the damaged village of Tizgui Dknt. Distribution will be through the aforementioned Aremd village association and possibly the local NGO Atlas Charity. The founder of the collection, Tereza Huclová, has 5 years of experience with both institutions. She has been working with the affected villages and their executive bodies for a long time.
What exactly will the funds be used for?
Our goal is to raise funds to provide immediate and long-term assistance to the affected communities. Specifically, these areas are:1. Health
2. Housing
purchasing materials for housing repairs and other equipment (warm blankets for sleeping, etc.)
3. Supply
basic foodstuffs. This applies especially to the lonely elderly and widows.
Will you help together with us?
Financial aid is collected to the transparent account of Be Love, z. s., ID 17066476. The association was originally founded to help Ukraine by director Marketa Oddfish Neshlehova and her friends.
