Don't let the summer heat consume you

Everyone loves summer time. There's no more worrying about what to wear and holidays are just around the corner. But nature doesn't wait and prepares us for the annual heatwave in advance. What to do when staying under a tree by the water is a secret wish, while we have to survive in a concrete jungle?

It all depends on our setting. That means our internal environment. What influences it? Drinking, breathing, diet, sleep and activity. How we react to disharmony, say neglected drinking and sleeping, also depends on age and constitution. In general, children, the elderly and the overweight overheat more. Next are women in menopause and people after vigorous treatment, hurting the Yin.

When the fire is whipping

Fire is the pathological manifestation of heat or heat in the human body, which are the two energies of the element Fire. It is essentially a more intense form of heat and its nature is to whip up and burn. It brings marked restlessness to irritability, insomnia, redness (including the eyes), increases pressure, causes cold sores and skin redness. It is the heat and fire of fullness that needs to be released while cooling the overheated blood.

Fireweed, contained in the MyFire blend and used especially for stomach and liver problems, is an expert on fire. It is cold in nature and, along with other herbs, can deal with all forms and manifestations of fire in both acute and chronic forms.

It should be added that alcohol is totally inappropriate in this case, as are overly nutritious and warming foods. Popular barbecues with alcohol should be limited to grilled vegetables and cheese with salad and at most non-alcoholic beer.

Refresh and strengthen the Emperor

Blood is the carrier of Qi, mediating nourishment, cleaning, warming and cooling. When the blood overheats, the Heart begins to speed up its activity to bring it to the surface and cool us down. After a prolonged period of time, even though we try our best to drink, it becomes thicker and we begin to feel tired. It is to some extent a defensive reaction, because forcing ourselves to exercise further only brings with it further fluid loss. And it also damages the endothelium or the inner lining of the blood and lymph vessels and also the heart! This leads to inflammation or bleeding.

MyHeart is a combination of Reishi and herbs to strengthen Qi, Blood, Yin and also Heart and Blood vessels. It can also promote "fluid birth", clear heat, refresh blood and calm the spirit. It is useful in times of heat as an energy recharger and to support mental function, memory and sleep. MyHeart will also be appreciated by cardiac patients and athletes to support the cardiovascular system. For better effectiveness of the blend, it is better to replace coffee with green tea at least for a time.

Fragile Yin and gentle creatures

We are talking, of course, about women, who, as a rule, like warmth. At least until hormonal changes, accompanied by hot flashes, night (and day) sweats, fatigue, insomnia, dry mucous membranes and other symptoms of reduced or unbalanced estrogen production.

This is where just cooling and taking away the heat and fire will not help. In fact, the empty heat concerning the Kidneys enters the scene. When the Yin of the Kidney weakens, it can overwhelm the Yang, which if it doesn't have an anchor (Yin) will break off and shoot up. This happens most often at night and in the morning and leads to awakening, thus impairing sleep and further regeneration.

MycoMeno is a combination of Reishi, Cordyceps and Chinese angelica to support the blood and Kidneys. Red Clover extract and other herbs are a source of phytoestrogens that alleviate the symptoms of menopause and regulate the menstrual cycle. The blend is also intended for younger women with menstrual cycle disorders related to lower estrogen levels, a tendency to miscarry or premature menopause.

Prevention and harmonisation

As already mentioned, it is better to avoid overheating by adjusting your lifestyle. In summer, it is sometimes difficult to go to sleep when it is still dark outside. It is also natural to sleep less. Sleep deprivation can be made up by taking a short nap in the afternoon. You'd better set your alarm for an hour at most, otherwise you'll be sluggish when you wake up. In the southern states, the observed siesta has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system and overall performance. This is also true for children, whose short naps will refresh their blood and keep them healthy and hungry when they wake up.

Drink in hot weather before you get thirsty. And what to drink? Ideally water and mineral water. Those who have digestive problems will appreciate soda water, which has a slightly acidic pH, which will "kick-start" the stomach. Liquids should not be iced, sweetened or caffeinated. A lukewarm fruit tea or fruit added to a pitcher of water will diversify the flavour palette.

The heat reduces our caloric intake by about a quarter. That's one proper meal, or better still - cut back on portions. Especially for the thinner ones, skipping a meal would lead to hypoglycemia and weakness. Clearly, fatty and floury foods are taboo, but this is the perfect time to lose some weight.

Movement is a prevention of overheating, and in summer, at a higher intensity is possible in the early morning or evening. Lucky is the one who has a swimming pool with a counter-current, the others have to go to the water and hope to swim.

Preventive use of herbal mixtures can correspond to the time of day. In the morning we start a fire with MyFire, which can accompany us through the day. In the evening, MyHeart will provide refreshment and strengthening. And the fire doesn't stand a chance!
