How combined extraction works

Combined extraction is a highly advanced method of processing mushrooms:

The mushroom is ground to a very fine powder.
The powder is divided into several parts, each of which is extracted in a different way.
In some mushroom species, extraction with alcohol is also carried out to release the water-insoluble active substances.
All the extracted parts are combined into one final extract.

This process ensures better absorption of the active ingredients, enhances the proportion of important beta-glucans and maintains the optimal ratio of all other active ingredients.

How many betaglucans can be found in the PRO range?

Thanks to innovative combined extraction, we can standardize our PRO mushrooms to beta-glucans. In our opinion and experience, a minimum of 30% beta-glucans (depending on the specific mushroom species, some have significantly more) in the final extract is ideal. It should be emphasised that these are indeed mushroom betaglucans, not betaglucans added from other sources. Which is the mischief of some producers. You will only find real mushrooms in our capsules.

We used to list the polysaccharide content of our mushrooms, now we are focusing on beta-glucans to give you the most accurate information about the strength of our mushrooms.

Betaglucans are a subgroup of polysaccharides. They are the main active substances of mushrooms, affecting the immune system.

Measuring beta-1,3/1,6-D-glucans is technically and financially challenging, which is why we are the only ones in Europe to do it.

In addition to the standard tests that we carry out in our independent laboratories ALS and Agrolab, we have started to cooperate with the University of Chemical Technology and the Irish laboratory Megazyme, which can test the most accurate levels of beta-1,3/1,6-D-glucans.
